The Sims franchise can’t live without them: the modding community. Not only can custom content add more CAS and Build & Buy mode items to your game, but it can actually enhance the gameplay even further by adding new features. Many players of the games (ever since the original The Sims came out) use custom content to spice up their gameplay, but this didn’t always go down smoothly.
In The Sims 4 modding has not only been approved, but it is even encouraged by the developers thanks to new technology intergrated inside the game. Players of The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo even noticed a folder named Mods within their files. However, Sr. Producer Lyndsay Pearson and Technical Director Darren Gyles did warn the new system is still in the works. The devs are looking for ways to allow the usage custom content, without it interfering badly with the overall player experience.
