In May 2013 Maxis and EA announced that The Sims 4 currently is in development for PC and Mac. One whole year later and we’ve finally received a few trailers of the actual game. These trailers are giving us a first look into the new and improved features The Sims 4 will have to offer once it releases in September later this year.
Create A Sim tool will be more powerful than ever
The new CAS has become a lot more intuitive and easier to use. Unlike the previous games, you’ll now be able to drag and pull your Sims’ features to adjust them the way you like. This way you’ll be able to create more unique Sims much faster than before.
Sims will be dressed in a few outfit categories, for which you can set individual outfits to give your Sim the perfect look for each occasion. There is a new filtering system, making it easier to find what you need or if you are feeling lazy you can pick complete outfits with the new Styled Looks feature.
Depending on their age, Sims will each have a maximum of three personality traits, plus a bonus trait depending on which aspiration you give them. These traits will highly influence your gameplay as Sims will react differently or get specific perks depending on their identities.
Make your Sims look super goofy, tough or peppy by choosing between different walk styles to match their personalities. Personalize your Sims even further by picking their own voice, changing their tone and even the pitch in which they speak. Your Sims will end up truly unique.
Build houses fast & flexible with the new Build Mode
Maxis is completely changing the way players build in The Sims 4. The new Build Mode will be way more flexible, making it easier to change up your builds if you want to, without having to start over.
In the end of the CAS trailer we could already see how rooms are now being able to be moved all at once. But the Build Mode trailer below showed us even more promising changes. You will be able to adjust the heights of your foundations and walls while building, or even place windows to each outer wall of a room in one click of a button.
Can’t wait to play instead of building your house first? Just place one of the new Styled Rooms on your lot. You can browse through plenty of bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens and more to create a house even faster than before. It’s an easy way to add onto your existing builds too.
Create unique stories with the new Gameplay
The Gameplay of The Sims 4 looks very promising. Sims are smarter than before, making it easier to tell their story in creative ways. The newest trailer shows a few of the cool new things we can expect in the game. Including the Goth family’s return to the neighborhood. But let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a Sims game if the Goths weren’t part of it.
Each Sim seem to have their own personalities and matching goals to work towards. Become an astronaut and launch your rocket right from your backyard, do amazing new bar tricks as a sexy bartender or play as a struggling artist who’s looking for someone to inspire him. Make your stories as weird as you please, as nothing seems to be too much for The Sims 4.
